Preston Peltier finished eighth in the Snowball Derby after starting on pole and leading the opening laps in the No. 48 P1 Chassis car for Sigma Performance Services. He completed all 300 laps, finishing 8.895 seconds behind winner Stephen Nasse.

Peltier earned the pole with a 16.240-second lap on Saturday, December 6. An engine issue cost him positions late in the race.

Rain had disrupted the early part of the weekend, and fog postponed the Derby from Sunday to Monday, December 8. The SPS crew worked through the changes, while fans returned for the delayed Super Late Model feature.

The race continued a Pensacola tradition that began in 1968, when Tom Dawson introduced the Snowball Derby as a 100-lap event. Today’s 300-lap race covers 150 miles on the half-mile oval, requiring drivers to balance speed with the demands of its abrasive asphalt.
