Preston Peltier won the pole for the 58th annual Snowball Derby with a 16.240-second lap at Five Flags Speedway on Saturday, December 6, after rain delayed qualifying in Pensacola.
The lap puts the No. 48 P1 Chassis car first on the grid for the scheduled Sunday race. Ty Majeski qualified second at 16.301 seconds, leaving Peltier 0.061 seconds clear. This is Peltier’s second Derby pole, eight years after his first.
The 300-lap Super Late Model race will demand more than qualifying speed. Five Flags’ abrasive half-mile asphalt surface makes tire conservation a central part of the challenge.
Event: 58th Annual Snowball Derby · Start: Pole position (qualifying lap 16.240)
Fog postponed the Derby to Monday, December 8. Peltier finished eighth and completed all 300 laps.
