BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Sigma Performance Services will return as presenting sponsor of the SPEARS (SRL) Pro Late Model Series in 2022. Following its inaugural 2021 season, the series plans at least 11 races and a new SPS-backed Frequent Flyer program offering eligible drivers a minimum of $400 to start.

Drivers qualify for Frequent Flyer payments after competing in two consecutive races. The $400 minimum continues until they miss a race; two further consecutive starts restore eligibility.

Each race will pay at least $2,500 to win, with larger purses for marquee events to be announced. SpearsRacing.TV will livestream every Pro Late Model race, with national television coverage on MAVTV.

The series follows the basic Pro Late Model rules used across California, adopting each host track’s engine rules for the division.

The SPEARS Pro Late Model Series presented by Sigma Performance Services will join the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series and Spears Manufacturing Modified Series presented by Lucas Oil at All-American Speedway, Kern County Raceway, Stockton Speedway, Irwindale Speedway and The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. All three series are open to drivers ages 14 and older.

We can't thank Joe (Farre') and SIGMA Performance Services for all of their support. They were vital in getting this series off the ground and after a great 2021, we're really excited about what 2022 holds. Sixty-nine Pro Late Model drivers took the green flag last season in the SRL and with the new Frequent Flyer program paying a minimum of $400 to start, those numbers are only going to increase.

Brian Olsen, SRL

We, along with the SRL, believe that racer's need a place to practice, learn and build, while maintaining a fair and level competition environment, and providing a fiscally responsible car and rule package that allows more teams to participate, plan and race on a reasonable budget. SPS strongly believes in this series, and our partners like the SRL, that we can build a stronger and more inclusive race environment that will allow more teams to participate, compete, and build in this exciting new series. We are proud to be a part of the SRL 2022 Pro Late Model Series.
