SPS arrived at the Summer Showdown after a third-place finish at Stockton the previous week, but mechanical trouble and contact ended its weekend.
The Pro Late Model lost an engine in the first practice session. In the 200-lap Super Late Model race, an early tire failure put the car several laps down before contact on lap 133 ended its race.
The team’s next scheduled SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour race is at Redwood Acres in a few weeks.
