Mason Mitchell, the 2014 ARCA Menards Series champion, will return to the driver’s seat for two races with Sigma Performance Services in 2024.
Mitchell, 29, is scheduled to drive the No. 23 SPS/GMS Fabrication Chevrolet at the half-mile Irwindale Speedway on Saturday, March 30, in the ARCA Menards Series West. His last national ARCA start came at Iowa Speedway in 2018, when he finished seventh.
He will reunite with crew chief Kevin Reed, with whom he won at Kansas Speedway in 2015. Team owner Joseph Farré sees the pairing as an opportunity to build on SPS’s work with GMS Racing and its experience developing Late Model drivers.
The second start is planned for Friday, June 14, at Mitchell’s home track, the seven-eighths-mile Iowa Speedway, with longtime sponsor Karl Chevrolet. Mitchell won there in 2015 with a last-lap pass.
During his 2014 title season, Mitchell won at Chicagoland Speedway and recorded 12 top-five finishes, 18 top-10 finishes and five poles in 20 races. He will also run an extensive Iowa dirt schedule in 2024, from dirt trucks to modifieds.

We have a track record of working with drivers from pro late models and super late models. Collaborating with an experienced driver like Mason Mitchell and seasoned crew chief Kevin Reed underscores the quality and depth of our organization, equipment, and infrastructure at SPS. Without these essential components, establishing our presence and commitment to the ARCA series would be a lengthier process.
